Quick Guide Video (iPhone)

New in ReelDirector 3.2:

Tips

• Remember to turn the ringer on! This will prevent the device from locking up and interrupting the rendering process.
• ReelDirector imports videos from Photo Albums, not the movie library. Please make sure to sync videos to Photo Albums: go to Photos tab in iTunes, check "Sync photos from", select the folder that contains the videos, and check "Include videos".

Import Music

There are multiple ways to import music:

• Directly from iPod music library (iOS 4 only): Tap "+" button on Edit Clips screen, and select iPod Music.
• Through iTunes file sharing (iPad and iOS 4 only). Please do NOT import video files in iTunes file sharing. ReelDirector cannot read them.
• Via WiFi: Tap "My Music" at My Projects screen, tap button and follow the instructions.

Edit Clips

Trim & Split Video Clips

Tap button to enter Trim & Split screen

•  Switch between trim and split mode
•  Position of current frame - tap/drag on the timeline or scroll the wheel to change
•  Start trim point - drag to adjust
•  End trim point - drag to adjust
•  Set current frame as the start trim point
•  Set current frame as the end trim point
•  Apply the trim/split

When trimming, select either Final Trim to trim off the clips beyond start/end trim points, or Keep Original to save a copy of the original clip so that you can go back and revise the trim.

Pan & Zoom Photo or Video Clips 

Tap button or double-tap a photo or video clip to enter Pan & Zoom screen

•  Switch between pan & zoom and still image mode
•  Set beginning position and zoom
•  Set ending position and zoom

Drag in the preview window to adjust position, pinch to zoom, double-tap to center/fit. Use the slider to adjust length

Adjust Photo and Video Transitions 

Tap buttons to adjust opening and ending transitions of selected clip

Record Sound

•  Tap button and select Record Sound
•  Tap to start recording
•  Tap to stop recording

Adjust Audio Volume & Fade

•  Use slider to adjust volume; to mute a clip, drag the slider all the way to the left
•  Fade-in is off
•  Fade-in is on
•  Fade-out is off
•  Fade-out is on

NOTE: video clip volume adjustment only takes effect when rendered

Text Overlay

Tap button to edit text overlay for a photo or video clip

Settings

•  Tap button to access app settings
• Access Photo Library: Enable/disable access to Photo Library
• Opening Transition: Turn on to enable opening transition of the first video clip; turn off to avoid a black icon when saved to Camera Roll
